On Friday 20 June, Aura’s founder Paul Jameson appeared live on BBC Radio Surrey to help raise awareness for Global Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Awareness Day, which took place the following day, Saturday 21 June.
Paul was invited to the show not only as a long-time MND campaigner, but also to share the remarkable plans he has set in motion for his 8th diagnosis anniversary.
In June 2017, Paul was diagnosed with Bulbar Palsy, a rare variant of MND, and given just six months to live. Eight years later, Paul continues to defy the odds, and it was his confrontation with terminal illness that led to the founding of Aura Funerals.
This September, Paul is taking on eight epic charity challenges to raise £88,000 for the MND Association. Among them: an attempt to break four Guinness World Records in a single day, alongside world champion dog sled racer Vickie Pullin, at Dunsfold Aerodrome.
“There is a cure out there, but it just needs hard cash to find one,” Paul told BBC Radio Surrey.
Since his diagnosis, Paul has already helped raise over £200,000 for MND research and support, and now he’s doubling down with an ambitious ‘Eight for Eight’ campaign to mark the milestone.
